THE FLOATING BIOSPHERE

Engineer, adventurer, improvised-solutions wizard and founder of the Low-Tech Lab, Corentin de Chatelperron has been traveling the world for years in search of low-tech innovations using salvaged materials that anybody can find and with a low environmental impact.

So how far can we rely on these technologies in building a different future? Used together, could these low-tech solutions satisfy the needs of a human being? Corentin tries an experiment: he will remain alone for 4 months on a bamboo raft with thirty or so low-tech innovations and the aim of achieving maximum self-sufficiency. He names the raft “Biosphere”.

Unpredictable weather, spells of exhaustion, discouragements, delights and moments of grace punctuate Corentin’s long months spent alone on his Biosphere.
