When will the 30th edition of the Festival take place?

The 30th edition of the International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival will take place in Val d’Isère from 12 to 15 April 2027.

Where does the Festival take place?

The International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival takes place in the heart of the village of Val d’Isère, in Savoie. Screenings take place in several venues: the Auditorium at the Henri Oreiller Conference Centre: main theatre the Valériane and Ancolie theatres at the Henri Oreiller Conference Centre: live rebroadcasts Le Splendide Cinema, at the Maison de Val: live broadcasts The Festival’s events and activities, known as the ‘OFF’ programme, take place in various indoor and outdoor venues across Val d’Isère: the Aquasportif Centre, the ski area, hotels, etc.

Do you need to book a seat to attend the screenings?

Yes, to attend screenings in the Auditorium of the Congress Centre and at Le Splendide cinema, you must book in advance. The Valériane and Ancolie theatres are open to the public free of charge, subject to availability.

Is there an admission charge for the Festival?

It depends on the venue: Conference Centre Auditorium: admission fee applies, booking required Le Splendide Cinema: admission fee applies, booking required Valériane and Ancolie theatres: free Attendance at the Festival’s OFF events is free but requires booking.

Can we follow the Festival online?

Yes! The evening events held in the Congress Centre’s Auditorium are streamed live for free on the Festival’s website. The link to watch the live stream will be available on the website’s homepage from the first day of the Festival.

Do the directors and adventurers attend the screenings?

Yes. In the Auditorium, the screenings are followed by discussions and Q&As with the filmmakers and adventurers in attendance, hosted by the Festival’s master of ceremonies. These discussions are also broadcast live in the other screening theatres and on the website.

Do the films have subtitles?

Depending on the film, screenings may be shown in French or in the original language with French subtitles. The language and any subtitles are specified on each film’s details page in the programme.

Is the Festival accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Yes, the Conference Centre is accessible to people with reduced mobility. If you have any specific requirements or need assistance on arrival, please contact the Festival team in advance of your visit.

How do you get around after the screenings?

A free shuttle service is available after the final screening from the Congress Centre, heading towards Le Fornet and then La Daille. Practical information and timetables will be provided during the Festival.

Can you vote for your favourite film?

Yes! The audience is also invited to help decide the winner from among the films in the selection. After the screenings, you can vote for your favourite film. The votes will determine the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at the awards ceremony. You can also vote online via this website.

When is the awards ceremony taking place?

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday evening in the Auditorium of the Congress Centre, on the Festival’s final night. It is a chance to find out the winners of this year’s festival and the People’s Choice Award.
